Chocolate Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Karo light syrup
  • ½ cup Karo dark syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups MNPG Pecan Pieces or Halves
  • 1 cup semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 1 unbaked Pie Shell (9 inch)
  • Optional toppings: Whipped cream, Ice cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, melted butter and salt until blended.
  3. Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  4. Pour the above filling into the pie shell. Bake in the oven for about 55-60 minutes, or until the center of the pie is set. Cover the crust with foil halfway through the baking time to prevent edges from browning too quickly.
  5. Transfer pie to a cooling rack and let cool for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy!
